Hayes’ vision is one of peace, aesthetics, and pleasure - her reaction to an overly-technical world - as she seeks connection to nature. As digital images proliferate, Tracy yearns for art that feels tangible and expressive.

Timeless nature-based themes of allegory, archetypes, myth and nature in mixed-media instill hope, power, and beauty through figurative images. Tracy creates freehand sketches and drawings, manipulates them in her computer, and prints them out on tissue paper. Then she paints, draws and collages backgrounds, lays down the printed images, and enhances them with media such as paint, pen and specialty papers. She loves the hands-on feel and intense colors of tissue paper and the results of color overlays.
